VOICE OF ART

‘Voice of Art’ is a unique change-making initiative conceived of by our Art Team. Non-competitive in format and embracing a wide variety of visual arts media and forms, the founding motivation behind the challenge is to encourage ‘different ways of seeing’ – ways that enable young adults to go beyond the dominant discourse and approach arguments related to social concerns with greater sensitivity and understanding.

‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ was the theme for the inaugural edition of Voice of Art – 2018 which took place at the Sanskriti Kendra.

Many socially conscious public schools of Delhi NCR and a few schools from London, came together in a harmonized challenge to address the catastrophic state of ‘Air Pollution’ that has engulfed the world for the past few years.

'Mirage Capital' by students of NiBS where the artwork looks at the enormity of the problem of air pollution in the capital as a ‘war’ or ‘battle’ akin to the Kargil War. It suggests parallels between the role played by the Mirage 2000, the fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force in Operation Safedsagar with the role played by Delhi’s Ridge in the battle against air pollution and smog– another kind of Operation Safed Sagar?
